Welcome to Down Up North!
Down Up North is one of 25 parent groups sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota. Down Up North is a group of parents and families with individuals with Down syndrome. Our goal is to provide support and encouragement through various activities such as our monthly parent group, the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk and parent-to-parent mentoring. By working together within our community, we hope to create happier, healthier lives through love to our children with Down syndrome.
March 17 Family Meeting
Mel Kloek, a Program Manager with True Friends, a nonprofit camp and respite organization in Minnesota will be presenting to the group about the overnight Down Syndrome Camp that is held each summer at the True Friends Eden Prairie camp. It’s a week-long camp with a parent networking day on the last day of camp, where speakers and specialists from the Down Syndrome community come in to build community with families. For more information about True Friends, visit their website at truefriends.org.
Additionally, Beth Foundriat, a physical therapy doctorate student will make a presentation about the research project that she is working on.
